Old news - if that makes sense ...

Not so much live work lately, but 2008 has definately been very busy already!

I have a few new products in the works, one being the follow up to Creative Drumming Made Simple. It's a much bigger project - about 100 pages, with 54 audio tracks! It's in editing stage, and the initial recording is nearly done.

I'm also working on a digital release of some material that is complementary to CDMS, and later in the year will be developing an ace new product for... well, I'll tell you later.

My band Rebecca Johnson & The Ravens will be scaling back the live work, to concentrate on our first album, and to make way for Rebecca's 3rd child!

Can't believe it's the end of 2007!

Much of my life has changed for the better this year, mostly due to lots of fresh new musical experiences.

I'm still playing random cover gigs with some GREAT players - namely Dan Melita and his band Sin City, and duo/trio stuff with Oli Jones.

My Alt-Country band Rebecca Johnson & The Ravens has a couple of cool shows coming up:

Sunday 9/12 @ the Greyhound Hotel (St. Kilda)
Wednesday 19/12 @ the Cornish Arms (Brunswick)

Our website is up with more content to be added soon - and we're dedicating Jan-Feb to writing what will be our first album.

Busy times!

I've had quite a few random fill-in gigs around Victoria, as well as some serious rehearsing done with Rebecca Johnson & The Ravens.

Creative Drumming Made Simple is selling pretty well - you can pick up a copy online from Allans Music here. I have quite a few new products in the development, which will hopefully be available early in 2008.

Great news!

Creative Drumming Made Simple is now available in stores, with AMPD (formerly Allans Publsihing) deciding they'd like to distribute my book!



Click to the CDMS section to buy online from Allans or Billy Hydes.
It should be available from other places soon.

I've been getting quite a few calls for fill in work lately, and am still jamming with Living Daylight and Rebecca Johnson and The Ravens.

The first Ravens gig @ The Greyhound was really well received, with subsequent bookings for bigger and better work coming immediately. I'll post some more dates when they get confirmed.

It's a very busy time of year, with tons of school concerts and reports to oversee, but I've still made time to do some playing.

Living Daylight is finally starting to gather some momentum, as is another new project:



The Ravens are a 5 piece Alt-Country band, with some really great songs and awesome vocals!

The first gig is on Sunday July 1st @ The Greyhound Hotel in St Kilda.

In other news, CMDS is selling well and is currently in negotiation with distributers. Fingers crossed!

Creative Drumming Made Simple is finally here!

After probably about 2 years of writing, road testing and editing the material, my first book is finally available for purchase.

Typo and AA duplication did an ace job, and I'll certainly be using them again. Head to the CDMS page, and order a copy now!

After a bit of messing around with dates, I've decided that my last NITRO gig will be on Friday April 20. It's looking like a fair few people will be coming down for an early beer, then a big night out afterwards.

That's Friday April 20 @ Flannagans, QBH, South Melbourne
8pm-11pm (nice and early!)

Yay team!

I'm finally moving on from NITRO, after 6 1/2 years and more than 500 gigs. It's really gonna be strange not to be performing 2-3 nights per week, but I'm sure I'll occupy my weekends with some other interesting musical universes, sometime in the near future.

I'll be making every effort to enjoy the break!

Creative Drumming Made Simple is finally at the printers, and the accompanying CD has been pressed.

Hopefully, it will be launched next week!
